The family of late rapper Tupac Shakur is taking significant steps in their pursuit of answers regarding his unsolved murder by hiring a private investigator to explore potential connections to Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Prominent New York attorney Alex Spiro has been hired to investigate potential connections between Shakur’s death and Sean “Diddy” Combs, as confirmed by Fox News Digital. Spiro, a Harvard-educated lawyer, previously aided actor Alec Baldwin in securing a legal victory in his involuntary manslaughter case related to the on-set shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.
The news comes following the recent arrest of Dwayne “Keefe D” Davis, who has been implicated in Shakur’s 1996 shooting in Las Vegas. Davis’s claims and various details that have emerged during the investigation have reignited interest in the circumstances surrounding Shakur’s death, prompting the Shakur family to take action.
Shakur was shot multiple times on Sept. 7, 1996, while leaving a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas. He succumbed to his injuries six days later, on Sept. 13. In September 2023, Duane “Keefe D” Davis, a former gang member, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder with a deadly weapon in connection with Shakur’s death. His trial is scheduled to begin in March 2025. Davis has long alleged that Combs offered him $1 million to carry out a hit on Shakur.
Once a dominant force in the music industry, Sean “Diddy” Combs was indicted by federal prosecutors in Sept. on various charges that claim he led a substantial criminal enterprise for years, driven by a desire for “sexual gratification.” Over the past year, a total of 12 victims have come forward to file civil sexual abuse lawsuits against him.
